NYSTIN

COMPOSITION: 

Each 1 gm contains:

Nystatin - 100.000 IU

INDICATIONS:

Orally administered NYSTIN is used for treating mucosal yeast infections of the mouth or gastrointestinal tract Candida infections in small animals, swine, cattle, and birds; it has been used less commonly in other species for the same indications.

NYSTIN is also used prophylactically to prevent crop mycosis and mycotic diarrhea in poultry. It is treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics during the treatment of acute pneumonia in cattle, digestive disorder, diarrhea.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

Oral administration.
Chickens:
- For enteric yeast (Candidal) infections: 2 - 3 gm / kg PO q8 - 12h.
- For chicks on antibiotic therapy: 100 gm / 200 - 300 kg B.W. PO twice daily for duration of antibiotic therapy.
- For treatment of candidiasis after antibiotic or in conjunction with antibiotics: 3 gm/ kg B.W. PO 1 - 3 times daily for 7 - 14 days.
Swine: 100 gm / 300 - 400 kg B.W. once daily.
Bovine: 1 - 2 gm / 10 kg B.W.

Contra-indications:
Nystatin is contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to it.
